The campus community now has on and off-campus access to the full content of the Chronicle of Higher Education via the link above. Access is available via computer, iPad, smartphone, and tablet.
Off-campus access requires setting up a personal account; you must use your full Campus email address (example -- username@grinnell.edu) with that account.
If you already have a personal account with the Chronicle, you should verify that the account uses your College email address. If it does, it should give you access--you do not need to create another account for this purpose.
Access instructions are as follows --
On a computer:
IF YOU’RE ON-CAMPUS:
1. Go to Chronicle.com for complete access.
IF YOU’RE OFF-CAMPUS:
1. Go to Chronicle.com and click on the “Sign In” link at the top right hand side of the web page.
2. Choose the “Sign Up” option.
3. Enter and confirm your College e-mail address, then follow the steps on the account set-up pages.
On an iPad:
1. Open the iPad App Store.
2. Find The Chronicle app and select the download option. You will be asked for your iTunes/Apple ID username and password, type it in and then your app will download and install.
3. Once installed, tap to open The Chronicle app.
4. When the app opens up, tap “Sign In” on the top left.
5. Enter and confirm your College e-mail address, then follow the steps on the account set-up pages.
On a smartphone or tablet:
IF YOU’RE IN MOBILE VIEW:
1. Go to Chronicle.com on your device’s Web.
2. Scroll down to click the “Log In”.
3. Enter and confirm your College e-mail address, then follow the steps on the account set-up pages.
IF YOU’RE IN THE STANDARD VIEW,
Follow the steps under “on a computer."
