Getting the Full Text of Books or Articles

If the item is Available Online, to get access to the best PDF version of it  

  • Click on the Title to get to the full information (bypass the Available online link) 
  • Scroll to the "View Full Text" section 

  • Choose the Best Link - 
    • If there is one link - click on it
    • If there are multiple links choose a provider that is not EbscoHost or ProQuest. For example one of these: 
      • JSTOR
      • Project Muse
      • Cambridge
      • Oxford
      • De Gruyter
        • Springer 

If the item you want is not Available Online, and lists a Physical location in Burling or Kistle Library, then you can go to the library location indicated to get the item. For Books - the listing will look like this - 

and you can check it out.

If it is a print copy of the journal - you can go to the periodical shelves in that library to find the journal and you can then scan the article on one of the stations in the libraries.

Each Library's periodical sections are arranged A-Z by the title of the journal and then the volumes are in date order. 

If neither an View Full Text or Find in Library option appears - you will see this message : 

Then when you sign in your will see : 

For Journal articles, if you choose Interlibrary Loan and submit the form, you will get an email with the link to the PDF in approximately 24 hours.  For books - Interlibrary loan takes on average 4-7 days.
